February Movies

This month I actually saw a lot of movies, there was quite a lot to be seen in the cinema to be honest. I saw all of the movies that I wanted to bar one (Cake, starring Jennifer Aniston which was only showing in selected cinemas). The month felt really long actually and it was raining a lot so the cinema was the only option we had an especially because I don't have a car I can't really go far on Friday evenings.

The Kingsman - 7/10 This was the first movie of the month and I wasn't sure about it because I hate the way movies portray British chavs to be it makes me cringe but it was actually really good. I enjoyed it as did my partner. It is about a boy (Eggsy) whose Dad died when he was working for a secret organisation (The Kingsman). Eggsy all grown up and a proper little troublemaker was destined to be put behind bars but Colin Firth sees a lot of potentional in him and decides to recruit him to take a test to be part of the secret service but whilst that is happening Valentine (Samuel Jackson) is plotting a plan by inducing a huge killing spree. I admit the guy who portrayed Eggsy was attractive and there was the cutest little dog in the world on there! It was a good movie and I liked the jokes they were very modern and some were quite crude which I love. I also love all the fight scenes with Colin Firth I feel they have made him look great in this movie, he looks so young and fit! I would recommend seeing this one because the storyline was enticing and really makes you think about social media in society.

Jupiter Ascending in DBOX Seats - 9/10 I actually saw this move twice this month, I saw it once in 3D screen and then in the DBOX (for the first time) which I thought would be a huge waste of my money and time but actually I was very surprised although I got a little sickness because of the amount of bumping around the seats were actually amazing and went so well with the movie. The vibration of the seat can be turned up and down using the controls on the seat. It is 100% worth the money I went to the DBOX at the O2 Arena in Greenwich. I also saw the movie in 3D which was good but would have preferred normal screening as 3D always feels like its straining my eyes a bit. Anyway, the movie is about Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under signs that predicted future greatness, but her reality as a woman consists of cleaning other people's houses and endless bad breaks. Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered hunter, arrives on Earth to locate her, making Jupiter finally aware of the great destiny that awaits her: Jupiter's genetic signature marks her as the next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos. Yeah blah blah, I read a lot of bad reviews online and was a little put off by this but when I actually saw the movie I thought what the hell are people moaning about! The make up was great and the storyline was alright (not amazing) but the effects and weird little creatures were good I enjoyed it and will be buying it on DVD. And yes, Channing Tatum does get his chest out.

Big Hero 6 - 6/10 This move was a bit of a 'had nothing better to do so might as well' I had noticed it was packed full of kids for weeks but then started seeing older people online lking it too. It started a bit boring and we were the only adults in the screen but wow .. just wow. I actually cried at an animation, what is wrong with me?! but no seriously it was a good movie I was shocked at how good a kids movie could be. I would recommend it for all ages, the comedy is still good for all ages and it is quite emotional so take a few tissues! It is basically just about a creation made by Hiro's older brother and it is called Baymax. He is basically a robot nurse. I enjoyed it and will buy it when it comes out the only reason I marked it down is because its one of those movies that you only like when its playing I wouldn't jump to it straight away.

Fifty Shades of Grey - 9/10 Well well well, this is a movie that the whole nation has been waiting for. No need for me to explain the plot as the universe knows this movie! I admit I never read the books but it was nothing personal as I don't read at all! I saw it a little later than others because it was sold out everywhere for ages. I was a little bit like eurgh whatever but when I actually saw it ... well. I liked the characters chosen and thought Dakota and Jamie suited the parts of Ana and Christian very very well. However, the only downfall was that it was quite slow going and the ending was awful. It is a three part book so I guess there is more to come (I hope). Now this move is renowned for its explicit scenes and to be honest I didn't think it was that bad there was nothing that I hadn't seen in other movies before and I thought Ana was beautiful and I could see she felt quite comfortable with what she was doing whereas Christian on the other hand .. weird. He was a strange character but oh so handsome. I would recommend this movie for all ages over 18 as the majority of people in the movie screen looked about 40+ anyway!

The Wedding Ringer - 2/10 I knew straight away that this movie would not be good. It seemed like a bit of a copy of other parodies I had seen and I was right. The jokes were old and the characters were boring. There were the occasional chuckles and good bits but nothing too special. I won't be buying this and as much as I love Big Bang Theory I don't like the part that Kaley Cuoco plays. It is just about a guy marrying his girlfriend but can't find a best man so he rings Kevin Hart who's job is to be peoples best man because they don't have any friends. I literally have nothing more to say .. the storyline was dry and predictable.

Focus - 4/10 I was quite excited for this movie as I do like Will Smith (sometimes) and I think Margot Robbie is beautiful she has amazing teeth and fantastic hair along with a body that I would die for! anyway more about the movie .. I thought it was good not great just good. It started quite well and I was very interested but then it got a little boring and lost all plot what so ever! Basically it is about Will Smith being a con man who teaches Margot Robbie the tricks, they become romantically involved but Will Smith pulls away. Three years on he finds he again whilst on a job and she is with the guy that he is actually working for. I did like all the dazzle and the dress sense of Margot, I feel this may have boosted her career but can't say the same for Will Smith I have seen him in better movies.
