♥ August Movies ♥

Fantastic Four 3/10 - I have to say I preferred the first movie to this remake. I think we should stop remaking old movies as this one just was not up to the plate. I expected a lot more. The effects were brilliant when there was some. It was too slow to start with and focussed on each characters back story then there was a tiny fight scene at the end and that was the end. I wouldn't even bother seeing it because I was bored.

The Gift 5/10 - This movie was quite long and slow but it did have you enticed the entire time wondering what was going to happen next and it all felt quite spooky. Joel Edgertons performance is fantastic. I am a fan of many of his other movies as he can play a number of characters very well. This movie does not make you jump but it does keep you on the edge of your seat and makes you release that the things you do have effects on many people not just one.

Absolutely Anything 8/10 - I am a big fan of Simon Pegg and love his movies (apart from the Mission Impossibles eurgh). Absolutely Anything has a number of bad reviews from what I have read but I quite enjoyed it but then again I am one for dry humour of which it is. Yes it wasn't side rippingly funny but there were many chuckles to have throughout with yet another great performance from Simon Pegg and Robin Williams as the voice of his pet dog. The comedy suits people of all ages and will keep you smiling throughout.

The Man From UNCLE 10/10 - Oh yes another movie written and directed by Guy Ritchie. I loved his previous movies so was quite excited for this one. Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill were superb and certainly looked the part. I would say this was the movie of the year so far, it has action, comedy and the usual pipe music as previously heard in Guy Ritchies movies. Cannot wait for the next movie!

Trainwreck 9/10 - This was my first piece of comedy from Amy Schumer that I have seen and I was surprised as I find female comedians not very entertaining but this movie was great. It was so true to life which is what made the movie so great because it was all what we were thinking! It certainly gives you a break from the typical romance movies you keep seeing being released every month. This movie will have gruesome parts and shows you what love is all about.

Vacation 7/10 - Now being a remake (of sorts) of the National Lampoons Vacation I wasn't hopeful. I thought it had some funny parts but it wasn't as good as I had hoped. This movie is too similar to the movie The Millers with the singing in the car and troubles on the road trip. This movie certainly shows you why you should never take an old movie and try to remake it even it is slightly different.
