♥ April Movies ♥

This year is going very fast I cannot believe that April has already been and gone! Only seems like yesterday that it was Christmas. April was a month of a lot of movies to see but the majority were terrible. The only one that I was looking forward to was Avengers Age of Utlron which was right at the end of the month. Easter time has been and gone and the weather has a been a little up and down so you never know what to do with your weekends so we just go to the cinema if all else fails. 

Get Hard - 2/10 I admit I only saw this movie because my boyfriend wanted me to because he is a fan of Will Ferrells movies (which I am not). I was not surprised when the movie turned out to be terrible. To be honest even giving it a 2/10 was generous. I thought the occasional joke was funny but they had all been used 100 times before and some of them very similar to his other movies. I do like Kevin Harts stand up comedy I think he is a funny man but the two put together were not funny and the storyline was exactly like Big Stan. It was about a prison-bound manager (Will Ferrell) of a hedge fund asks a black businessman (Kevin Hart) -- who has never been to jail -- to prepare him for life behind bars. YAWN. Do not bother seeing this. 

Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 - 4/10 I had saw the first Mall Cop when it was first released in 2009 keep in mind I was 15 when I saw it so I was young enough to see it then. I felt I had to see the second movie because I had seen the first and thought it was funny but obviously being older I had realised the jokes were a little childish and made me cringe. Some jokes had adult humour which is why I liked it and I am a fan of Kevin James I think he is quite funny in his movies (Here Comes The Boom, Grown Ups, Kings of Queens). It was the same storyline as the first movie Paul Blart stops the bad guys blah blah. Paul Blart (Kevin James) takes his teenage daughter (Raini Rodriguez) with him to Las Vegas for a security-guard expo. While there, he stumbles upon a heist and must single-handedly apprehend the crooks. I think it is a good family movie but I wouldn't choose to watch it by myself. 

Child 44 - 8/10 From the trailers for this movie I was really unsure as to what it was about and had to read the write up on it a few times. I wanted to see it because I do love a bit of Tom Hardy (oh yes) and Gary Oldman is a well known actor who usually plays parts very well. Before seeing the movie a read a few reviews all of which were bad with people saying the movie was a "flop" and that Gary Oldman ruined it. Yes I admit the accent he was trying to portray (Russian) was terrible he just sounded american to me. Tom Hardy did the accent exceptionally well and it suited him too! The films plot is:- At a grim outpost in 1950s Soviet Russia, a disgraced agent (Tom Hardy) and his wife (Noomi Rapace) join forces with a general (Gary Oldman) to capture a serial killer who preys on young boys. It was a very long film it felt like I was sitting in the cinema for hours but it was a great movie I thought and it kept me hooked I didn't feel bored and it was not a story you could wrap up in an hour or so it had to be long so you knew the background of the story. 

The Duff - 8/10 I saw this movie because quite frankly there was nothing else on at the cinema that I hadn't already seen or was interested in. I hadn't seen a trailer for this and didn't even know what it was about which is usually a bad sign. When I got into to cinema I decided to read the plot of the movie - Frumpy high-school senior Bianca (Mae Whitman) has a rude awakening when she learns that her classmates secretly know her as the DUFF -- designated ugly fat friend -- to her prettier and more popular pals. Desperate to reinvent herself, Bianca enlists the aid of Wesley (Robbie Amell) a jock. So to me it just sounded like another Mean Girls/John Tucker/Whatever It Takes movie all put together which it was. However the movie was quite funny and used jokes that were very modern and had a lot of adult humour. It showed what girls can really be like and what high school is like. I enjoyed the movie as did my boyfriend and it was a lot funnier than we expected. I admit Wesley obviously was not of high school age as he looked in his late 20's but he fit the part well and did Bianca. It was refreshing and very well written it was unlike other teen movies and was enjoyable for men too. 

Avengers Age of Ultron 10/10 I had only seen the first Avengers the week that this one came out because my partner wanted to see it. I was always a little put off because I didn't like the Thor movies or Iron Man but when watching this I was surprised to find I was literally gripped. I loved every second of it especially the fact that there was some humour in there too. I always thought these movies were for guys only but I loved it and although it was very long it was worth it. We watched it in the DBOX seats which were amazing!! I would 100% go back to see it and will be buying it when it comes out. I loved the acting and the camera work. The storyline was great and I loved The Vision and Quicksilver they were my favourite. It had romance, action and humour it was all you need in a movie and a storyline to keep you enticed.
